Zipper Bag

This Zipper Bag is my go-to bag. It is the perfect travel sized bag to carry make-up, toiletries, charging cables, headphones, and anything else you need while on the road. With a simple zipper and four box pleats, this bag is a quick make. I just love Scandinavian inspired fabric during the holiday season. Pie Trivet

Let the holiday baking begin! This Pie Trivet sewing pattern works great as a placemat also. Sewing round projects can be a little intimidating, but this tutorial is super simple! There is even a cutting template included in the pattern to help you create the perfect circle. Make sure your binding is cut on the bias. You can either make your own or pick-up a pre-made package. We used fabric from the Dashwood Studio Oh What Fun collection to create this fun free sewing project.

Christmas Tree Table Runner or Pillow

The Christmas Tree Table Runner tutorial is a foundation paper piecing (FPP) pattern. Have you tried this fun technique? Don’t worry if you have not. We’ve got a FPP Tutorial to get you going. It is quick to learn and you will be creating beautiful quilt blocks in no time! This table runner was created using solid fabrics from Andover Fabrics in their Century Solids fabric line. By using classic Christmas colors of reds and greens, this table runner takes on a holiday feel.

This same pattern can be used to create a pillow. I mixed up the solid colors to create a modern rainbow look. I love the versatility of this pattern as it is easily adapted to different seasons and looks based on how you arrange the colors. Flying Geese Table Runner

The Flying Geese Table Runner is one of our newer sewing tutorials. We used the Creative Grids Ultimate Flying Geese Tool to create these quilt blocks. This useful quilt ruler not only gives you the measurements you need to create eight different sized flying geese, it also allows you to trim your fabric to a the perfect size. For this table runner, we used seven different fabrics from the Jolly Darlings fabric collection by Ruby Star Society. Isn’t it fun to see how changing up colors and designs can create a completely different look. This table runner is an extra special holiday gift.

Notebook Tote Bag

Here is another adaptable sewing pattern. The Notebook Tote Bag tutorial is a quick make and a beginner friendly pattern. This tote bag is a great size for books, music, and can also be used as a small sized shopping bag. By adding holiday fabrics, this bag is fun to carry around during the Christmas season. We used the Jolly Basics fabrics from Ruby Star Society to create this holiday inspired tote bag.

Fat Quarter Napkins

Napkins are a great hostess gift. The Fat Quarter Napkins free sewing pattern uses just two fat quarter fabrics for each napkin. This is a very beginner friendly project and you can create a 4, 6, or 8 napkins in no time! These cuties were created using the Peppermint Panel in Please Wrap Multi by Sarah Watts and the Jolly Basics Hole Punch Dot – Multi from Ruby Star Society.

Just like bibbed overalls, military-style combat boots, and high-waisted jeans, scrunchies are the latest revisited trend to make a powerful fashion comeback. Scrunchies are a fun way to add a pop of color to your look...and hold your hair securely in place! But did you know that they are also super easy to make yourself? Learning how to sew a scrunchie is an approachable beginner sewing project for all ages. Plus, it’s a great way to use up that last bit of elastic you have left over from making face masks! Once again, Jolly Darlings fabric was used to create this holiday hair accessory.

Rag Wreath

Our final holiday project is a no sew and scrap friendly make. This Rag Wreath tutorial is super easy and a kid friendly project. All you need is a wire wreath frame and a whole bunch of scrap fabrics. We used bright and cheerful fabrics from the Alison Glass Sun Print Luminance collection. I have this cutie hanging in my shop. It adds bright and cheerful color to my workspace.
